Deshan is a multi-disciplinary entrepreneur and a recognised industrialist in South Africa. He has 11 years’ experience in Finance and Engineering. He started his career as an analyst at Cannon and quickly progressed to an associate portfolio manager, before leaving to establish an investment holding company. Deshan holds executive certificates in entrepreneurship, advanced valuation and strategy from leading international universities. He is currently completing his Masters in Management, specialising in Digital Business and is a participant in INSEAD’s flagship International Directors’ Program (IDP). As Executive Chairman, Deshan uses his expertise to guide corporate strategy and enjoys playing promotor fidei to the investment team’s theses. He is an avid mountain biker and a student of Muay Thai.

Tshepo Modiba is a skilled investment professional. His breadth of experience has shaped him into a well-rounded investment specialist with entrepreneurial, small business and corporate understanding. He has worked in multi-management, investment management, private equity, and corporate finance roles at spanning Investment Solutions, Cannon Asset Managers and Seriti Asset Management, Advisory and Capital which he founded. Tshepo has quantitative and traditional finance skills gained through his studies, as a BSc (Hons) in Mathematical Statistics graduate, and through his work experience. These broad range of skills and experience allow him to bring a holistic approach to investments and problem solving.

Nthabiseng is a graduate of the University of Pretoria, who joined Cannon Asset Managers in March 2020 through the Youth Employment Services (YES) quality work experience programme. She began her role as an investment intern, and is now the operations analyst. Her responsibilities include assisting with client services, administration and finance, while working closely with the investment team and learning more about asset management.

Karabo Tladi holds a National Diploma in Finance and Accounting from Tshwane University of Technology. He joined Cannon Asset Managers in March 2023 as an Operations Intern. His responsibilities include assisting with client services , data management and payment processes.
